nouns are either masculine or feminine. There are no neutral
nouns in Spanish. The
article (el, la, los, las) always goes before the noun (el
bolígrafo,
la calculadora, los libros, las casas). The
noun is usually masculine when is ends in
-o and feminine when it ends in
-a. The gender of the article
matches the gender of the noun (el
barco, la casa).
